Toby Keith Opens Cost Free Living for Children Fighting Cancer

Toby Keith’s Foundation proudly opened the doors last week to a cost free living facility for children battling cancer. The OK Kids Korral is said to look like the Ritz Carlton meets Disney World and will provide a home for pediatric cancer patients and their families, while they are receiving treatment at The Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center, OU Cancer Institute and other nearby facilities according the facilities website.

The site also adds:

• According to recent statistics from OU Cancer Institute,
over 1,000 Oklahoma children have been diagnosed with
cancer since 2005.

• Advances in cancer treatments have resulted in a
promising survival rate increase from about 10% in the
1950s to 77% overall.

One thing is for sure that the OK Kids Korral will bring a warmth and stability to the children and their families, while the children under go treatments for their illnesses. The facility boast 16 suites each sleeping up to 5, indoor / outdoor playrooms,  gourmet kitchen and more. Toby’s foundation has been working since 2006 to help children battling cancer and spearheaded the efforts to make OK Kids Korral a reality.
