The American Country Music Chart named Shane Wooten as their program’s host for the upcoming American Country Music Chart Countdown, which will have a radio and video format. The upcoming chart countdown will cover the top country artists on a weekly basis. Furthermore, the chart is producing one of the first digital magazines dealing with country music content. Shane Wooten was named the offical host of the countdown in a twitter from the countdown’s parent company ACMC earlier in the week, which stated we are very proud to announce Shane Wooten as our new host and new addition to the family here at ACMC! We wish him the best of luck!. Which leads us to the question, who is Shane Wooten?
Shane Wooten is an up and coming Country singer from the Central Florida area that scored a regional hit single last Summer in 09’ with “Shovel’n Sunshine” that rode the Florida Country Music Chart for over 7 weeks. The buzz that Wooten created would lead him to produce and host the radio show, known as the FL Country Buzz with Shane Wooten airing on WTRS 102.3 a Central Florida country music radio station. Shane stated that his passion for music and the industry are ever growing and expanding in different directions since he started getting serious during his college days at UCF about his music.
Shane’s passion for the music industry would create several opportunities, for example co-producing and hosting a reality show, known as FL Star in 09’ filmed on location in Florida, which placed singers against each other in a talent based competition and featuring the backstage drama and comedy that took place.
Most recently, Wooten recorded two new singles with Bellamy Brothers “Running with a Redneck Crowd” Featuring the Bellamy Brothers and Pit-Bulls and Chainsaws written by David Bellamy. Shane stated the opportunity started with a radio interview that I had set up with Howard Bellamy and we hit off [Laughs]. Shane would go on to work with the Bellamy Brothers on several projects at their label, which allowed Shane to showcase the first song and subsequently record with the legendary duo.
When the American Country Music Chart Countdown was searching for talent, they thought that Wooten had the drive and determination that a fledgling show would need to take root on a national level. When we asked Shane how it felt to be offered the position, Shane stated that he was honored and truly grateful for the great opportunity and looks forward to recording the show without screwing it up [laughs]!
