Kenny Chesney to Donate Concert Earnings to Tornado Relief

Kenny Chesney one of Country music’s biggest stars announced that he is going to donate the proceeds from his upcoming May 25, 2011 concert, which will be held in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The money will go to the victims of the Tornados that devastated the city that is home to the University of Alabama.

In addition to Kenny donating his earnings, his management and booking agency have also agreed to donate their fees showing that the Chesney team has their heart in the right place, when it comes to the fans.

The deadly storm system that swept through the South two weeks ago killed more than 300 people in seven states. At least 41 were in Tuscaloosa. The April 27 tornado outbreak destroyed entire sections of the community and left the city financially and emtionally drained.

Chesney had considered rescheduling the concert; however the mayor insisted that  he perform the show because it would be a positive and uplifting moment for the community.

The funds will go to GiveTuscaloosa.com and will be funneled to local charities and social services.
